Abaxis reports 43% increase in revenue

Abaxis, Inc., (ABAX) a medical products company manufacturing point-of-care blood analysis systems, reported financial results for the fourth quarter and the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006.

For the fourth fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2006, Abaxis reported revenues of $19.8 million, as compared with revenues of $13.8 million for the comparable period last year, an increase of 43%. Instrument revenue, reagent disc and hematology reagent revenue increased by $5.1 million or 39% over the same period last year. The company reported net income attributable to common shareholders of $2.3 million, compared to $1.3 million for the same period last year.
