Researchers from the United States and Canada detail new studies and findings in the area of myeloma

Myeloma data are the focus of recent research from the United States and Canada.

Study 1: Multiple myeloma (MM) is linked to differential vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression.

"Bone marrow angiogenesis is increased in patients with MM and correlates with disease stage. Previous studies of quantifying VEGF and VEGF receptors (VEGFR) in plasma cells from patients at different stages of MM found no significant difference in expression between overt MM and earlier pre-malignant stages of the disease namely, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM)," investigators in the United States...
