Researchers detail in "Human metapneumovirus and exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease," new data in respiratory syncytial virus. According to recent research published in the Journal of Infection, "Respiratory viruses are a common trigger for exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a paramyxovirus associated with respiratory tract infections and wheezing."
