India's first Trilogy accelerator ordered for Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai

A major Indian cancer center is acquiring the country's first Trilogy machine from Varian Medical Systems (VAR) to offer patients what the company describes as the most advanced radiotherapy treatments in the world.

The Trilogy medical linear accelerator will be installed at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India in late 2007.

Using the Trilogy accelerator, doctors at Tata Memorial Hospital will be able to offer cancer patients more precise treatments, including image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) as well as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for controlling and stopping early-stage metastatic cancers.
