Biovail Strengthens Leadership Team

The Board of Directors of Biovail Corporation (NYSE:BVF)(TSX:BVF) announced that Bill Wells has been appointed the Company's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective May 1, 2008. Mr. Wells joined Biovail's Board of Directors in 2005, and has been the Company's Lead Director since June 30, 2007. As CEO, Mr. Wells will remain on the Company's Board of Directors.

The Company also announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Douglas Squires as Chairman of the Board, effective May 1, 2008. Dr. Squires is the Company's current Interim Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
