David Wood named VP, GM of medical device company's drug delivery business unit

SurModics, Inc. (SRDX), a provider of surface modification and drug delivery solutions to the medical device industry, announced David S. Wood, 48, joined the company as vice president and general manager of its drug delivery business unit, effective November 1.

Wood has over 24 years experience in the healthcare industry, most recently as director of product development for the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) division of Guidant Corporation. Prior to Guidant, he worked at Eli Lilly and Company in various capacities, including in business development for their medical devices and diagnostics division.
