Group launches hepatitis C treatment program

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), has launched a new initiative against the "silent killer" hepatitis C (HCV), concentrating efforts through local healthcare centers and seeking to treat patients before they develop potentially life-threatening symptoms.

Among the chronically infected, nearly 70% of patients will develop chronic liver disease, with Hepatitis C being the leading cause of liver transplants in the United States.
