Specialty-pharma announces winners of its annual awards program

Eurand, a specialty-pharmaceutical company, and the Controlled Release Society (CRS) announced the winners of the 2005 Eurand Award Program, which honors innovation in oral drug delivery.

The winners presented their research at the 32nd annual CRS Meeting in Miami, Florida.

Jules S. Jacob, director, research and development of Spherics, Inc., Lincoln, Rhode Island, was named the Eurand Award grand prize winner for his presentation on the development of bioadhesive gastroretentive controlled-release tablets of Itraconazole (Spherazole).
