New study published in Allergy confirms that allergy vaccination with Alutard SQ can prevent asthma

In the August issue of Allergy, a new study now confirms a long time scientific belief that allergy vaccination (also called specific immunotherapy) with Alutard SQ(R) early in the disease development can reduce the risk of developing the life threatening disease asthma in children suffering from allergic rhinitis due to grass and/or birch pollen allergy.

Allergic rhinitis is a major risk factor for later development of asthma. In the Preventive Allergy Treatment (PAT) study, 45% of children with allergic rhinitis not treated with Alutard SQ(R) developed asthma.
