Unite Slams Attack on Access to Justice

Committee (Wednesday 25) to support the Scottish Government proposals to raise court fees as 'disgraceful and an attack on access to civil justice'.

The Justice Committee through the support of the SNP, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats backed the decision to substantially increase court fees which will detrimentally impact on poorer and vulnerable people who use the civil courts to settle grievances, including personal injury claims, child custody battles and divorce.

The SNP intend to radically increase civil court fees from the current 30% to 80% by 2011...
