Rectal bleeding is associated with increased risk of distal colon cancer

Screening remains the best way to find colorectal cancer, even though rectal bleeding is associated with an increased risk of having a distal lesion, researchers say.

According to recent research from Italy, "The aim of this study was to determine the diagnostic value of rectal bleeding for distal colorectal cancer (CRC), or large (greater than or equal to 10 mm) adenomas among an average-risk population.
