Taxol settlement brings Coloradans $430

Colorado consumers and organizations participating in a multi-state antitrust settlement with Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. over its anticancer drug Taxol began receiving their shares of the $430,000 award June 1, 2004, authorities said. Attorney General Ken Salazar said about $66,000 will be mailed to individual consumers, with an average award of about $560. The University of Colorado Hospital Authority will receive about $120,000; Denver Health will receive about $75,000; and the state government will receive about $170,000.
