Government-funded berryfruit cognitive study needs over-65 volunteers

HortResearch and its co-researchers have begun a 4-year $6.4 million government-funded program, Healthful Berries, to identify the health enhancing attributes of berryfruit. Approval for the first study using human volunteers, known as the Berryfruit Cognitive Study, has passed the ethics committee and will proceed.

Previous research by both HortResearch and the Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, Tufts University, Boston, suggests that the regular consumption of dark-red colored fruit juices may be beneficial.
