CF-KO murine model useful for study of altered drug clearance

The CF-KO murine model appears to be suitable for the study of altered drug disposition in cystic fibrosis (CF).

"The cftrtm1Unc-knockout (CF-KO) mouse is being evaluated as a model of increased drug clearance noted clinically" in CF patients," scientists in the United States explained.

In their study, M.N. Tallman and coauthors at the University of North Carolina "investigated whether CF-KO mice exhibited altered omeprazole pharmacokinetics compared with wild-type mice."
