Madrid bombing yields lessons in trauma care

Doctors from one of the two hospitals closest to the Madrid bombings have described their experience of March 11, 2004, in a recently published report.

Dr. Gutierrez de Ceballos and colleagues explained how they organized the hospital to deal with the influx of casualties, as well as analyzing severity of injuries and survival rate. The lessons they learned are invaluable while future terrorist attacks remain a threat.
