Hebrew SeniorLife opens new medical acute care unit at Roslindale facility

Hebrew SeniorLife has opened a 23-bed Medical Acute Care Unit (MACU) at its Roslindale facility to provide extended medical and rehabilitative care for seniors with complex medical conditions or multiple acute or chronic illnesses.

The MACU offers comprehensive rehabilitation (physical, occupational and speech/language therapy), pain management, wound care, respiratory management, dietary, social, and skilled nursing services.

Many patients will have pulmonary conditions such as pneumonia or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as strokes, congestive heart failure, fractures or complex wound-care needs.
