Wyoming Senate panel approves meth bills

The Wyoming Senate Labor, Health and Social Services Committee recommended two bills aimed at tackling the state's methamphetamine problems.

One bill would provide $8 million for increased access to meth treatment, prevention and law enforcement time devoted to meth cases. The committee voted February 16, 2005, to allow these funds to also be used for drug tests of convicted offenders.

The committee made a major change when it opted to give $1 million previously appropriated to the Wyoming Department of Family Services to improve parenting skills to the Wyoming Department of Health for an alternative program that would teach parenting skills, life...
