Doctor indicted again on healthcare fraud charges

A Crossville, Tennessee, doctor accused of billing the state and federal government for more chemotherapy drugs than she actually gave patients has been re-indicted, U.S. Attorney Jim Vines said March 2, 2005.

A federal judge dismissed healthcare fraud charges against oncologist MD, Young Moon last year, ruling that the July 2004 indictment didn't clearly state what federal laws the doctor was accused of breaking.

The prosecution appealed last month to the U.S. 6th District Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.

The new indictment adds a charge that Moon made false statements to investigators, Vines said.
