American Kidney Fund teams with biotech firm for Renagel assistance plan

The American Kidney Fund and Genzyme Corp. announced the new Renagel Patient Assistance Program (RPAP), a joint initiative that provides Renagel (sevelamer hydrochloride) to patients who do not have the financial means to obtain it.

The Renagel Patient Assistance Program is intended for patients who have no access to Renagel through prescription drug coverage or through a Medicare-approved drug discount card, and who meet the RPAP financial requirements.

Under the new program, patients who may be eligible for RPAP can apply for inclusion at any time, rather than during a defined enrollment period. The program is administered by the American Kidney...
