GEO Group contracts with Florida departments to manage 123 more mental health forensic beds

The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary GEO Care, Inc. has signed contracts with the State of Florida Department of Children and Families for the management and operation of 123 additional forensic mental health beds in south Florida.

GEO Care signed a contract to manage and operate the new 100-bed South Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center (SFETC) Annex. The SFETC Annex contract will have an initial term of 5 years with one 5-year renewal option period. The facility will begin the intake of residents on March 1, 2007.
