Reports from College of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology add new data to research in adverse drug reactions

Research findings, "Quality of manufacturer provided information on safety and efficacy claims for dietary supplements for colonic health," are discussed in a new report. According to recent research published in the journal Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, "Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of dietary supplements is not required. However, manufacturers must ensure that data exist to support safety and efficacy claims of their product."
