Watch Out - New Landlords Warned

Thousands of pounds belonging to both landlords and tenants could be at risk as the uncertainty over the property market threatens the future of some estate agencies, a Cardiff agent has warned. While they wait for the market to recover, more people are turning to renting out their property but they may not understand that not all estate and lettings agents insure the tenants' deposits and landlords' rents they hold. Andrew Thomas of Chris John & Partners in Cardiff warns landlords to ensure the lettings firm they choose to work with is reputable, and regulated by a professional body such as the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA)....
