Hospital CEO Gets 'Spoofed' by State Budget

Along with hundreds of hospitals, nursing facilities, and other healthcare providers throughout California, Community Hospital of Long Beach (CHLB) has been adversely impacted by the state legislature's failure to pass a budget. Frustrated by the situation, CHLB's President and CEO Ray Jankowski had been emailing many of the state legislative offices over the past week or so.

As of this week, the amount owed to Community Hospital of Long Beach by the Medi-Cal program is approaching $900,000, money that would have been paid if California had an approved budget.
