Authors' Licensing & Collecting Society Distributes GBP5.6 Million to Writers as the Government Debates Policy on Authors' Rights

The Authors' Licensing & Collecting Society (ALCS) distributed GBP5.6 million to 13,265 members on 15 September, part of an estimated GBP19 million which will be distributed to writers over the course of 2008. "We have exceeded expectations by paying out over GBP1 million more than forecast," says CEO, Owen Atkinson.
