AAHSA Applauds Introduction of Legislation to Expand Affordable Senior Housing

The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging's (AAHSA) President and CEO Larry Minnix applauded the introduction of S. 118, the Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly Act of 2009. If passed, this legislation would strengthen the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Section 202 Supporting Housing for the Elderly Program nationwide by providing the vital funding needed to maintain and improve existing housing, allow housing providers to adjust to cost fluctuations and expand the supply of affordable housing for seniors both in urban and rural areas.
