Johnson & Johnson Reports Full-Year and Fourth-Quarter 2008 Results

Johnson & Johnson announced sales for the year 2008 of $63.7 billion, an increase of 4.3% over 2007. Operational growth was 1.9% with currency contributing 2.4%. Domestic sales decreased 0.4%, while international sales increased 9.7%, reflecting operational growth of 4.6% and a positive currency impact of 5.1%. Worldwide sales in the fourth quarter of 2008 were $15.2 billion, a decrease of 4.9% as compared to the fourth quarter of 2007. Operational results declined 1.0% and the negative impact of currency was 3.9%.
