APHA Applauds Passage of the State Children's Health Insurance Program

"The American Public Health Association today applauds Congress for passing the long-awaited reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). "In recent months as our nation's economic downturn deepens, the importance of this bill has become even more apparent as families increasingly find themselves without employer-sponsored insurance and in need of affordable coverage options for their children. "By expanding enrollment in the program from 6 million children to more than 10 million, the bill will provide millions of low-income children from working class families with access to health insurance coverage. ...
