ADL Praised the Commonwealth of Virginia State Attorney's Office

The Anti Defamation League (ADL) praised the Commonwealth of Virginia State Attorney's office for their successful prosecution of Matthew Shepherd on two criminal counts, including assault and battery, for Shepherd's role in a hate crime against two African American men. Shepherd was sentenced to twelve months each on two counts of assault and battery, suspending eleven months on each count, and ordered to have no contact with the victims, pay court costs and complete an indeterminate period of supervised probation, which will include alcohol and drug screening.
