Robarts Research Institute Installs Imaging Magnet and Console from Varian, Inc.

Varian, Inc. (NasdaqGS: VARI) announced the Robarts Research Institute has installed a Varian 7T magnet and MRI console as part of its Centre for Functional and Metabolic Mapping. This imaging centre also houses a Varian 31 cm 9.4T horizontal system as well as a 3T whole-body MR imaging system. These scanners are used for in-vivo studies of brain structure and function. This includes the assessment of brain metabolism, physiology, cognitive function and vascular dynamics, both in normal and research patient populations, using a variety of advanced nuclear magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy techniques.
