Amnesty International Urges More Protection for Human Rights Defenders in the Middle East and North Africa

Human rights activists in the Middle East and North Africa still face imprisonment, torture, persecution and repression for seeking to uphold the rights of others, more than ten years after the United Nations (U.N.) called on all states to support the work of people defending human rights, Amnesty International said in a new report, Challenging Repression.
