AARP, Coalition for a Competitive Pharmaceutical Market (CCPM), National Business Group on Health (NBGH), and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) strongly endorse the biogeneric pathway and exclusivity period contained in the bipartisan Waxman-Deal-Pallone-Emerson “Promoting Innovation and Access to Life Saving Medicine Act." Today, the AFL-CIO and Consumers Union are also announcing their support of this legislation. This landmark legislation builds on the success of the current Hatch-Waxman law by constraining cost growth, expanding competition and choice and providing needed incentives for innovation.
