BackWeb Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Microsoft

BackWeb Technologies Ltd. (Pink Sheets: BWEBF or BWEBF.PK) announced that it filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court in San Francisco, California against Microsoft Corporation, alleging patent infringement and seeking damages, an injunction and a declaration by the Court that Microsoft’s software update technologies infringe BackWeb's patents.

BackWeb alleges Microsoft’s Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), Windows Update and other products infringe four U.S. patents owned by BackWeb covering methods for transmitting information between a remote network and a local computer and distributed client-based data caching systems.
