CVS in Boston Urged to “Clean Up Its Act” by Consumer Advocacy, Community Groups as Part of City-Wide Day of Action to Cure CVS, According to Change to Win

Nearly two-dozen consumer advocacy and community groups rallied outside the Downtown Crossing CVS pharmacy today before dispatching to all 33 metro-Boston CVS drugstores in delegations, asking the drugstore chain to “clean up its act.” Carrying brooms, dust pans and signs, demonstrators chanted “Hey hey, ho ho, expired goods have got to go” as part of city-wide efforts to urge CVS to reform its retail practices. CVS, which had the most state pricing violations of any retailer in Massachusetts last year, is also being criticized for selling expired goods, failing to provide equal access to its stores and locking up condoms in some area stores.
