Community Health Systems, Inc. Announces Acquisition of Outstanding Interest in El Dorado, Arkansas Facility and Definitive Agreement to Acquire Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Health System

Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) announced that a subsidiary of the Company has acquired from SHARE Foundation its 50 percent joint venture interest in MCSA, LLC, which owns and operates 166-bed Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas. Medical Center of South Arkansas is now wholly owned by the Company’s subsidiary. The hospital is located in the south central portion of the state, approximately fifteen miles north of the Louisiana border, and offers a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services.
