Biosense Webster to Support Landmark Clinical Trial of Atrial Fibrillation

Biosense Webster, Inc., a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, will be part of a public/private collaboration to fund a global clinical trial to compare catheter ablation to medical therapy in treating atrial fibrillation. AFib, as it is more commonly referred to, is the most prevalent cardiac arrhythmia (heart rhythm disorder), affecting an estimated 20 million people worldwide. It is also one of the most common causes of stroke.
