Raising cotton goes high-tech

As smaller farms routinely become part of larger, ever-expanding farms, farm managers have Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) database software to obtain and coordinate information needed to properly manage and optimize production and profit. But Steve Searcy, a professor in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University, has developed a new tool to help cotton growers optimize their productivity and profitability.
