January 25th, 2005

Researchers have applied photo-stimulated luminescence (PSL) and electron spin resonance (ESR) analysis to the identification of irradiated spicy vegetables.

According to a study from South Korea, "Photo-stimulated Luminescence (PSL) and Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) were applied to detect irradiation treatment of dried onion, green onion, and ginger (peeled and unpeeled) divided into 0.3, 0.6, and 0.9 kGy for low-dose group, and 3.0 and 7.0 kGy for high-dose one.
