Economic analysis of pneumococcal vaccine for elderly reported

Researchers present an economic analysis of a pneumococcal vaccine program in people aged over 64 years in a developed country setting in a recent issue of the International Journal of Epidemiology.

"Polysaccharide pneumococcal vaccination for older adults is being introduced in developed country settings. Evidence of protection by this vaccine against pneumococcal pneumonia, or confirmation that illness and death from bacteremia are prevented, is currently limited.
