Intravenous acetaminophen has weak opioid-sparing effect

Intravenous acetaminophen treatment has a weak opioid-sparing effect in coronary artery bypass patients. Anesthesiologists in Sweden conducted a "prospective, randomized study" to determine "if intravenous acetaminophen compared to oral administration reduced the consumption of opioids and their side effects without an increase in pain during the stay in the intensive care unit (ICU)."
