Advamed Applauds Bureau of Labor Statistics Creation of a New Ppi for Blood and Blood Products

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently created a new PPI for blood and organ banks that more accurately reflects the cost of blood and blood products used by hospitals.

"Having a means to track the market changes in blood products commonly used by hospitals ultimately paves the way toward improving the reflection of these changes in the Medicare hospital inpatient payment system. We applaud the BLS's work as recognition of the importance of blood safety and availability," said Stephen J. Ubl, AdvaMed's president and CEO.
