American Cancer Society Enlists African American Churches in Fight Against Cancer

As part of its ongoing efforts to reduce cancer disparities, the American Cancer Society today launched a program to educate more African Americans on colon cancer prevention and early detection by working with predominantly African American houses of worship.

The Society will distribute kits consisting of educational DVDs, posters, and brochures to 14 churches in seven markets: Atlanta, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
