State officials planned to stop accepting new people into the Child Health Plan Plus as of November 1, 2003.
The federal government gives $2 to the program for every $1 the state spends. However, the state doesn't have enough money to keep enrolling people, said Sen. Dave Owen, R-Greeley, head of the Legislature's Joint Budget Committee. "They're lucky they aren't going to be cut," Owen said.
