Medical Protective announces rate reduction of additional 10% for Texas physicians

Medical Protective, a Texas-based primary medical professional liability insurer, announced it will reduce its average rates for Texas physicians by another 10%, effective January 1, 2007. This is the fourth reduction since July 1, 2005, cumulatively reducing malpractice premiums for Texas physicians by an average of 23%. Medical Protective has more than $700 million in annual premium from its primary medical professional liability coverage and risk solutions to physicians, dentists, healthcare facilities and professional corporations.
