Southwest Ambulance awarded exclusive contract to continue 911 services in Avondale, Arizona



October 9th, 2006

Rural/Metro Corporation (RURL), a provider of medical transportation and private fire protection services, announced that its Southwest Ambulance subsidiary has been awarded a new contract to continue as the exclusive provider of 911 emergency medical transportation services in the City of Avondale, Arizona.

The contract includes an initial term of 4 years, followed by two, 2-year renewal terms. The company currently provides approximately 3,000 patient transports in Avondale annually.

Avondale is a western suburb of the Phoenix metro area, with a population of more than 69,000 residents. The 54-square-mile city is projected to nearly double in...
