StockerYale, Inc. (STKR), an independent provider of photonics-based products, announced release of its custom-designed specialty optical fibers for the medical industry. Utilizing the company's preform lathes, high-speed draw towers, and in-house design skills, the company is working with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to deliver custom-designed, ultra small form factor single mode fibers for the medical industry. The availability of the much smaller form factor fibers is facilitating new applications within the industry.
