Tufts Health Plan Medicare expands Alere program to include COPD patients, frail elderly

Alere Medical, Inc., a disease management company, announced implementation of new programs with Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred for Medicare members with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), along with a complex frail elderly program. The move is an expansion of Alere's current contract with Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred for its members with chronic heart failure. Alere Medical's COPD program is developed from initiatives of National Jewish Medical and Research Center, a recognized leader in asthma and COPD management.
