Cell biology research advances have been reported from India, the South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Study 1: A fludarabine-based regimen allows sustained engraftment without immediate toxicity.

According to a study from India, "Multiply transfused patients of severe aplastic anemia are at increased risk of graft rejection. Five such patients underwent peripheral blood stem cell transplantation from HLA-identical siblings with a fludarabine-based protocol.
