Cardiology of Tulsa wins 2006 Davies Ambulatory Care Award

Cardiology of Tulsa (COT) won the Davies Ambulatory Care Award for its use of the NextGen EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.

The award - which is part of the 2006 Nicholas E. Davies Awards of Excellence - honors healthcare organizations for their excellence in the use and implementation of health information technology (IT).

COT implemented NextGen EMR in January 2001 and is now a paperless practice. Numerous financial and operational benefits have been realized through use of the system, including decrease in patient work-up from 20 to 7 minutes; decrease in transcription staff by 62 percent while reducing transcription lag time from 2,000...
