Studies from University Hospital further understanding of lymphadenopathy cytology

Fresh data on lymphadenopathy are presented in the report "Transbronchial fine needle aspiration cytology in the diagnosis of mediastinal/hilar sarcoidosis. The diagnostic value of transbronchial/transtracheal fine needle aspiration (TBFNA) cytology in the patients with mediastinal and/or hilar lymphadenopathy has been investigated. Out of 116 patients with mediastinal/hilar lymphadenopathy, the diagnosis of sarcoidosis was established in 88 (75.9%). One hundred and seventy-one TBFNAs from different lymph node stations were performed using a cytological 26-gauge needle," scientists in Zagreb, Croatia report.
