First patients successfully treated in Australian clinical study in eyecare

Norwood Abbey, Ltd., (NAL) subsidiary Norwood EyeCare, an ophthalmic-devices company, announced that the first patients in an Australian clinical study have been successfully treated.

The clinical study, which was approved by the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital human research ethics committee, is being conducted under the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Clinical Trial Notification Scheme.

Epi-LASIK is the next generation in laser vision correction (LVC). It combines the benefits of current LVC procedures and eliminates their disadvantages, particularly the need to cut the eye, according to Norwood.
